Although I am not a researcher or a PhD holder in political science, public law, economics, or international relations, I have developed a broad intellectual background through the environment in which I grew up. From an early age, I was encouraged to read books on philosophy, political thought, economics, and human history, as well as to engage with meaningful cinema.
Perhaps academia is not, and should not be, detached from the political and social contexts in which knowledge is produced. Universities should not exist in ivory towers, isolated from the realities, struggles, and aspirations of the societies around them.
My extensive reading, combined with the wide range of experiences I have had throughout my life, allowed me to develop a broad understanding of different intellectual and political questions and to form my own views on contemporary realities and possible paths toward a better future.
Some of these ideas later became part of the political proposals and policy positions developed by the Democratic Current party, and were reflected, to some extent, in its approach while in government, although that experience did not last long.
This intellectual and political engagement developed even before I completed my Bachelor's degree in Public Law and before I decided to pursue further studies in International Relations.
